Apply for The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) Today

Upcoming application deadline for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program April 19

Oregon farmers and ranchers may be eligible for financial assistance from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to perform voluntary conservation projects on their land.

Funding is available now through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). EQIP is a cost-share program that reimburses agricultural producers for a portion of the cost to perform conservation activities on private land. Participation is entirely voluntary.

The next application deadline for EQIP assistance in Oregon is April 19, 2019. To apply, visit a local USDA Service Center or download an application form online.

EQIP funding is available at this time for various locally-led Conservation Implementation Strategies (CIS) across the state and for the Sage Grouse Initiative (SGI).

SGI focuses on making measurable and significant progress toward treating threats to rangeland health including sage grouse habitat on private lands. SGI funding is available to ranchers in Baker, Crook, Deschutes, Harney, Lake, and Malheur counties.

Locally-led CIS’s focus on a specific natural resource concern based on input from local landowners and partners. View map of current Conservation Implementation Strategies.

Interested applicants can also contact their local USDA Service Center to inquire about EQIP opportunities in their county and to apply for assistance.
