Upcoming Events for January & February, 2020:

Teen Theater Performance: The Princess and the Pirates

Friday, January 17, 2020 at 6:00pm (Evening show for Public)
Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 2:00 pm (Matinee for Public)

This is a great opportunity for High School teens to Audition and get experience in performing for a large audience. We found 15 students from the Basin for this year’s show. This play will be performed by 15 Local Teens for the Klamath Basin elementary students, Seniors in the Basin and performance for the public. We have found a very fun & familiar play that the students will be able to interact with the characters on stage.

Directing this play is one of our own Youth StARTS Artist and After School Instructors- Amber Burger. “Margaret would rather play video games than do her homework, so her Poppa tells her the story of Princess Margaret, whose family is kidnapped by pirates. The only way for her to save them is to use the Pythagorean Theorem to help the mermaids find the pirate ship, but did she pay enough attention when her tutor, Professor Archimedes, was trying to teach it to her? The Princess and the Pirates is a comic homage to the classic movie, The Princess Bride, but with a purpose: to remind children that there are real-life applications for math.”

Please welcome and support these teens by coming to their performance on Friday, January 17th at 6:00 pm or Saturday, January 18th @ 2:00 pm!

Queen Nation- Queen Tribute Band

Saturday, February 1st at 7:30 pm
Come out and enjoy an evening that is sure to bring you back to the golden age of a vintage Queen concert led by the all-time great rock performer Freddie Mercury, who was arguably rock’s most powerful front man of one of the most iconic rock groups in Rock n Roll history. It’s hard to match the entertainment value power Queen had in the rock concert world, however, Queen Nation comes very close.

Queen Nation is a visual and musical tribute band show to Queen. It was formed in 2004 by David Hewitt of DMHE Music & Productions Agency. The band features members: Gregory Finsley on vocals and keyboards as Freddie Mercury, Mike McManus on guitar as Brian May, Pete Burke on drums as Roger Taylor, and Parker Combs on bass as John Deacon. Queen Nation’s goal is to carry Queen’s musical torch, exposing the music to new and old fans by paying homage to the legendary rock band. In 2013, Queen Nation was recognized as “The World’s Greatest Queen Tribute” by Mark Cuban, Ryan Seacrest, and AXS-TV. Queen Nation was even featured in a 1-hour live national broadcast from Hollywood to millions of viewers.

From the World Famous Carter-Cash Family: Carlene Carter (Country)

Wednesday, February 26th at 7:30pm
As the daughter of June Carter Cash and country star Carl Smith, and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash, Carlene is the physical embodiment of the Carter Family in the 21st century and she has been releasing music for almost four decades. Her most recent album release was Carter Girl, a Don Was-produced collection of Carter Family songs and originals, inspired by her family. Carlene spent the better part of the last few years on he road with John Mellencamp on his Plain Spoken tour, both as a support act and joining him on stage nightly to perform duets. She also played a role in the touring production of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, the southern gothic musical play written by Stephen King and Mellencamp. Upcoming is the release of Sad Clowns and Hillbillies, the 2017 album by John Mellencamp featuring Carlene Carter and includes newly penned songs by Carlene. Carlene started her career singing with The Carter Family at 17. With the 1978 release of her self-titled debut album, she established herself on the edgier end of the country music spectrum, having recorded it in England with Graham Parker’s band The Rumour. When Maybelle Carter died later that fall, Chet Flippo wrote in Rolling Stone that she “lived to see her granddaughter Carlene merge Nashville with contemporary rock and roll.”
