The Henley boys baseball and girls softball teams are playing for the state championship this Saturday.

In local high school baseball on Tuesday, the Henley boys broke open a 1-1 tie with Astoria after a 30 minute rain delay in the 4th inning with three runs and never looked back, defeating the visiting Fishermen 9-3.  Hayden Rasica threw the first 6 and 2/3 innings, while Dylan Fitts came in to get the final out.

Heith Rasica hit his fourth home run of the post season and John Tacchini his second as the Hornets advanced to the 4A title game against Banks, a 5-0 winner over Hidden Valley yesterday.  The title game will be played at Volcano Stadium in Salem beginning at 10am.

Henley Girls Softball team will play for the state title on Saturday!

In softball, a four run first inning and Lilly Poe’s pitching were all the Lady Hornets needed to advance, 10-0 against Banks.

Henley will meet LaGrande for the second year in a row for the state title at the new Jane Sanders Stadium on the campus of the University of Oregon at 5pm on Saturday afternoon.
