Mariners stun Texas Rangers.
There’s a reason Marco Gonzales looks comfortable at T-Mobile Park and it’s not just because he’s the rare Mariner who makes his offseason home in Seattle and works out year-round at the stadium.
The former Gonzaga University standout threw another gem on his home field on Thursday night, becoming the first five-game winner in the Majors this year with seven scoreless innings as the Mariners rolled to a 14-2 victory over the Rangers.
Gonzales is the first Mariner in franchise history to win five games before the end of April. He won his season debut on March 20 against the Athletics in a game played in Japan.
Ryon Healy went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored, utility man Dylan Moore went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk in his first start in left field. Dee Gordon was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Tim Beckham was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs.
Top pitching prospect Justus Sheffield will be added to the 25-man roster on Friday and make his Mariners debut in relief of Yusei Kikuchi as the club begins its plan to limit Kikuchi’s workload in his first season in the Majors.

The Oregon Tech softball team moved from No.12 to the No. 10 spot this Week in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll. The Owls have gone 6-1 since the last poll including series wins over British Columbia and College of Idaho.
Cascade Conference regular season champion Southern Oregon University stayed at the No. 4 spot with Corban University staying at the No.17 spot this week, while College of Idaho stayed in the receiving votes category.
Oregon Tech will head to La Grande, Oregon to take on Eastern Oregon this weekend to conclude the CCC regular season.

The Portland Trail Blazers will have to wait to see who they play in the next round of the NBA plyaoffs.
San Antonio defeated the Denver Nuggets last night 120-103 to send it to a deciding game 7 tomorrow night.
The semi-final series will begin Monday either in Portland or in Denver.
