Lake County Fairgrounds Considers Renovations
LAKEVIEW — The Lake County Fairgrounds may soon see a change in facilities, layout and appearance following completion of a master plan funded, in part, through a recently acquired grant.
With the assistance of South Central Oregon Economic Development District (SCOEDD), a $50,000 Local Economic Opportunity Fund Program grant was approved through Business Oregon. Its purpose will be to fund a two-phase assessment for development of a master plan for immediate facilities needs, maintenance and possible redesign.
Blessing Pot in Chiloquin Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary
CHILOQUIN — The Blessing Pot is celebrating 10 years of serving Chiloquin.
The menu is hearty homemade soup, homemade roll and a homemade cookie. This is served to approximately 300 to 325 people per week. The service was co-envisioned with Pastor Sam Seybold and Norma Jean Wilder. Pastor Sam has since retired.
The Blessing Pot delivers to shut-ins and in-house and is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Chiloquin Community Center, 140 S. First Ave. Approximately 175,000 meals have been served.
It was a full weekend of talents, glamour, intelligence and pageantry on full display with annual scholarship pageants held Saturday and Sunday honoring young women in the Klamath Basin.
A Weekend of Pageantry Crowns New Champions
It was a full weekend of talents, glamour, intelligence and pageantry on full display with the annual Miss Klamath County-Miss City of Sunshine scholarship pageant Saturday, and the Miss Southern Gem – Miss Southern Jewel pageant held Sunday, honoring young women in the Klamath Basin.
Chosen for the title of Miss Klamath County was Tori Brooks, an Oregon Institute of Technology student. Chosen for the title of 2019 Miss City of Sunshine was Madison McCuiston, an Arizona State University student.
Sunday marked the 10th annual Miss Southern Gem – Miss Southern Jewel Regional Scholarship Pageant with Kaila Tripp winning the title of Miss Southern Jewel, and Rylee Young named as 2019 Miss Southern Gem.
