Klamath Art Gallery Presents “Color in Motion” Beginning Oct. 5th! Join us for the Artist Reception!

The Klamath Art Gallery Presents “Color in Motion” featuring 4 artists starting Sunday, October 5th with an opening day reception from 12 noon to 4pm on Riv.

Lexis Washburn’s works of art are primarily landscapes, in watercolor and acrylic. She has been honing her artistic skills in drawing and painting since she was a young child.  Her art education includes 4 years in high school, life drawing at San Bernardino Community College, and private studies in graphite drawing with David Bjurstrom, Watercolor with Miwako Bagley, Darlene Zarosinski, and others.  She has done work in various media, including acrylics, watercolor, pastels, ink, graphite and colored pencil, with endeavors into graphic arts, jewelry and fabric arts.   Lexis moved to Klamath Falls in 1980 and joined the Klamath Art Association shortly after. The beauty of the sky and the scenery of Southern Oregon were inspiring. Lexi has exhibited at the Klamath Art Gallery, OIT, and Gallery 803.

Renée McGlothlin has been doing art for as long as she can remember. Raised in a blue-collar family, she never got to go to college – or art school. While Renee was working as a sign painter, and later sign designer, she taught herself to do portrait painting. Now in her late 60’s and retired, she relocated to Klamath Falls from Grants Pass in the Spring of 2023. Renée can work in both oil and acrylic, but now mainly prefers acrylic and a smaller size canvas. She does accept commissions so visit her at https://reneemcgart.com

Myra J Hamaker Schelb began in Acrylic before exploring other mediums with artist Pam Stoehsler. She enjoys creating art in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolors, Alcohol & Ink and Pastel.  Her favorite subjects are wildlife, flowers, and landscapes.

When Myra moved to the Klamath Basin in 1995, she became involved in the Art community as a member of Gallery 803 and was a member until it closed.

In May of 2013 Myra established her own gallery inside her new business office at Countertops by Topsecret, Inc at 6032 Washburn Way, and called it MJ Art Gallery for 6 years.  Myra joined the Klamath Art Association approximately three years ago and most recently has been elected as President of the Association.

Ruth Hollis has lived in Klamath Falls for over 50 years, enjoys painting flowers, wildlife and landscapes in oil, watercolor and acrylic. They tell a story, touch a memory or bring out a feeling. Capturing the quiet, peaceful moments of nature, Ruth’s work is both realistic and whimsical and usually with plenty of color.  While Hollis is mostly self-taught, she has studied under several art instructors and has attended numerous workshops to learn methods with oil, watercolor and acrylic.

Please join us for the Opening Reception Oct. 5th Noon to 4 and meet these talented women, have a snack and view their art.  The show runs from Oct. 5th to 26th at Klamath Art Gallery 120 Riverside Drive.
