Pet of the Week “Luca”, Ready for Adoption at Klamath Animal Shelter

This week’s pet is a kitty named “Luca”. Luca is a 1 1/2 year old neutered male. He is a medium-haired black and white tuxedo polydactyl which means he has extra toes and will need a family that keeps a close eye on nail growth.

Some people consider polydactyl cats to be lucky. #themoreyouknow

Luca’s family had to move in with relatives and a member of the home was allergic to cats. They said that he is litter box trained, and has lived with children of various ages along with other cats and dogs. He is a playful, sweet boy. At the shelter he shares a room with two other cats and seems to get along well.

“Polydactyl” cats with extra toes needs more frequent checks to trim nails and keep paws and toes healthy.
A scratching post or mat in the home can also help the cat.

If you are interesting in adopting Luca please call the Shelter at 541-884-PETS during business hours 10:00-4:00 Monday thru Friday to find out more information. To see the other adoptable pets the Klamath Animal Shelter asks that people visit the website at klamathanimalshelter.org
