Spotlight on Schools – KCSD Events of Note

Week of March 9

District-wide – Wednesday: Professional Development Day (one-hour late start). Thursday: End of 4th Grading Period. Friday: No School, grade preparation day.

Bonanza – Wednesday: Elementary Assembly in Big Gym with the Oregon Coast. Thursday: Robotics to Salem until Saturday; 5th and 6th grades to Ross Ragland.       

Brixner – Monday through Thursday: After School homework help. Thursday: Brixner Extravaganza. 

Chiloquin Elementary – No submission.

Chiloquin High – No submission.

Falcon Heights Academy/Great Basin Homeschool Center – No submission.

Ferguson – Tuesday: Booster Club meeting at 6:00 p.m. Thursday: STEAM day.          

Gearhart – No submission.

Henley Elementary – Monday: Good News Club at 3:15 p.m. Thursday: Awards Assemblies, 4th – 6th at 1:15 p.m., 2nd – 3rd grades at 2:00 p.m., and Kindergarten – 1st grades at 2:30 p.m.        

Henley Middle – Monday through Thursday: After School tutoring, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday: Kindness Club at 3:30 p.m.; Book Fair continues; Track practice begins. Tuesday: Art Club, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Star Base, 3:20 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday: Root Beer floats sold at lunch, $1 or 10 bee bucks; Track parent meeting in Gym at 5:30 p.m. Thursday: Debate Club, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Diamond Lake Rewards Day.

Henley High – Monday: Juniors to OIT for public university tour at 8:15 a.m.; Wrestling banquet in Cafeteria, 6:00 p.m. Tuesday: FFA meeting in Cafeteria, 6:00 p.m.

Keno – Tuesday: Ms. Nowak’s class to STARBASE. Wednesday: Parent Club meeting at 3:15 p.m. Thursday: Ms. McKay’s class to STARBASE; 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades to Ross Ragland Theater to see “Super Scientific Circus”. 

Lost River – No submission.

Malin – No submission.

Mazama – Monday: College visit to OIT; Jostens at lunch to hand out Senior gear. Tuesday: Swim Awards night at 6:30 p.m., location TBA. Wednesday: Wrestling Awards Night in Cafeteria, 6:30 p.m.; Archery Club in Cafeteria, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday: Robotics to State Tourney at Chemeketa; Symphonic Band to Sheldon High School. Friday: Spring Athlete Work Day, 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Saturday: SAT’s 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Merrill – Tuesday: Husky Assembly at 7:55 a.m.; PPA meeting at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday: Awards Assembly at 1:30 p.m. Thursday: 4th grade to Ross Ragland; 5th and 6th grades to Night of the Notables at 6:00 p.m.      

Peterson – No submission.       

Shasta – No submission.

Stearns – Monday: 6th grade Ties N Guys with Mr. Paschal. Thursday: 2nd and 3rd grade to the Ross Ragland Theater to see “Super Scientific Circus”.
