Also Showing: “Visions of Indonesia”
Visions of Indonesia and other Blue Water Pictures. A photo show by Dennis Anderson
Dennis Anderson, a San Francisco photographer in love with the sea, now lives here in the forests and high deserts of Klamath Falls.
For many years he ran a San Francisco photo studio and lived on his wooden boat in the Loch Lomond Marina, San Rafael, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. In 2011 he was invited to do a dream job in Indonesia, shooting the final steps in the creation of a huge new wooden ship, a 170 ft long craft called a Phinisee. It was being built by hand by Bugis and Konjo tribesmen whose maritime heritage reached back to the days of the spice trade.
Three years later Anderson was asked to return to photograph the Dunai Baru’s maiden voyage, a month long 1000-mile journey through the Indonesian Sea.
And now, The Klamath Art Gallery invites you to see a photo show called “Visions of Indonesia”.
