Kruise of Klamath Expands Schedule for 2019 Event
The Kruise of Klamath, now in its 14th year, is gearing up for their annual event that brings hundreds of classic
cars to Klamath Falls at the end of June. This year’s event has been expanded to four days, June 26-30, with
additional events that will showcase more of the area’s attractions.
“Approximately 35% to 40% of our attendees are from out of the area”, notes Kruise of Klamath Chair Glenda
Stilwell. “We love to share the many wonderful attractions in our area to our out of town guests but never have
enough time to fit them all in. So this year we added an extra day to our schedule and planned some events to
showcase a few areas beyond the immediate vicinity of Klamath Falls.”
On Wednesday, June 26th the Kruise of Klamath will be hosting a show ‘n shine at the Merrill Civic Center
from 5 pm to 7 pm. The Lost River FFA members will be holding a BBQ featuring tri-tip, chicken, and sides for
$15 as a fundraiser for attending the National FFA Convention. The BBQ is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at the Lost River High School main office, Martin’s Food Center, the Merrill Les Schwab or on the Kruise’s website.
In addition to the show ‘n shine and BBQ, entertainment will be provided by Michael Quinn and Cherry Wine for the duration of the event. More information available on the website!

On Thursday, ahead of the normal evening Kruise Kick-Off party, an excursion to Train Mountain and Crater
Lake National Park has been planned. The group will depart via chartered bus and spend a couple of hours at Train Mountain before continuing on to Crater Lake for lunch and hopefully catching the Hemmings Motor
News Great Race that is passing through the park on the same day.
Don’t miss Movie Night at the Ross Ragland Theater with a showing of the classic American Graffiti at 7 pm – everyone is welcome!
Kruise weekend kicks into high gear on Friday, June 28th with mini shows around town from 8 am to 4 pm and
then the evening block party at the Ross Ragland Theater starting at 5 pm. The block party will feature a BBQ
by Yummy’s and a concert by Nephilim and both events are open to the public.
On Saturday the always popular show ‘n shine will be held at Moore Park from 9 am to 4 pm and the general
public is encouraged to utilize the free shuttle from OIT to Moore Park as parking is extremely limited at the
park. Saturday events will wrap up with Kruise vehicles cruising downtown from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. As a
reminder, there is no parking on Main and Klamath between 4th and 12th starting at 5 pm that evening to prepare for the cruise.
Sunday marks the end of Kruise weekend with breakfast at Starv’n Marv’n and poker run with cash prizes from 10 am to noon that the public is welcome to participate in. Wednesday, June 26th
- 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm/ Show ‘n Shine & BBQ at Merrill Civic CenterOur agricultural roots run deep in the Klamath Basin and nowhere is that more evident than the City of Merrill just a short drive southeast of Klamath Falls. Join us for an evening at the Merrill Civic Center for a show ‘n shine, a fundraising BBQ by the Lost River Future Farmers of America youth group, music by Michael Quinn & Cherry Wine and an informative (and in some cases tasty!) showcase of our local agribusiness industry. The show ‘n shine is limited to registered Kruise vehicles but everything else is open to the general public and we hope you come join us! BBQ tickets are $15 each (tri-tip or chicken, potatoes, salad, and a roll) and must be purchased in advance (they’re available from our online store). Coming from out of town? Thursday, June 27th
- 9:00 am to 3:00 pm/ Excursion to Train Mountain Museum and Crater Lake National ParkTwo amazing sites are on the itinerary for today! A visit to Klamath isn’t complete without going to the Crater Lake National Park and taking in the breathtaking views and visiting the historic lodge. Add in a trip to Train Mountain which is the world’s longest miniature railroad with over 36 miles of 7.5″ gauge track and now we have a fun day indeed! The associated Train Mountain Railroad Museum has the world’s largest collection of cabooses (37 if you’re counting) along with extensive displays on the history of the railroads in Klamath County. Participants will depart Klamath via charter bus and spend the morning at Train Mountain (train ride included!) before heading to Crater Lake for an afternoon of exploring. The group will be back in Klamath Falls in time for the evening Kruise Kick-Off party. Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance (they’re available from our online store). There will be secure parking for registered cars so make plans for exploring our downtown and dining at one of our great local restaurants. Coupons for discounts at a number of the downtown restaurants will be available.
- 7:00pm / Movie Night – American Graffiti / Ross Ragland Theater / 218 N 7th St.
- This movie is a classic just like everything else during Kruise weekend and the perfect way to end the evening. Suggested donation at the door with snacks and drinks available for purchase.
Friday, June 28th
- 8:00am to 10:00am / Mini Show #1 / Waffle Hut – 106 Main St.
- Open to all vehicles 1976 and older – need not be registered in Kruise to participate.
- 10:00am to Noon / Mini Show #2 / Winema Electric – 735 Commercial St.
- Open to all vehicles 1976 and older – need not be registered in Kruise to participate. Music, food, and fun for everyone!
- 11:00am to 4:00pm / Registration & Pre-registered packet pickup / Moore Park – Lakeshore Dr.
- Packet/goody bag pickup for those that have pre-registered, registration available for those that haven’t.
- Noon to 2:00pm / Mini Show #3 / Aftershock Sportsbar -3901 Brooke Dr.
- Open to all vehicles 1976 and older – need not be registered in Kruise to participate.
- 2:00pm to 4:00pm / Mini Show #4 / Mia & Pia’s Pizzeria and the Klamath County Library – 3545 Summers Ln.

- Provided by Yummy’s Catering (there’s a reason for their name!) this is a hearty dinner featuring tri-tip and/or chicken and all the fixings. Tickets are $15/person and must be purchased in advance while supplies last – this event is open to the public. Beer, wine and soft drinks available for purchase from the Ross Ragland concession stand.
- 7:00pm to 10:00pm / Sock Hop / Ross Ragland Theater – 218 N 7th St.
- Music of the 60s and 70s by Nephilim is sure to get your toes tapping. Plenty of room for dancing or just sit back and listen to some great music. This event is open to the public – admission is $10 at the door.
Saturday, June 29th
- 7:00 am to 9:00 am / Registration & Pre-registered packet pickup / Moore Park – Lakeshore Dr.
- Packet pickup for those that have pre-registered and registration for those that haven’t on a space available basis. Once our limit of 500 registrants has been reached registration will be closed. This is the last chance to get registered for this year’s event – if you’re planning on just doing the Saturday evening Kruise you still need to be registered by 9 am.
- 7:00am to 9:00am / Parking for Show ‘n Shine / Moore Park – Lakeshore Dr.
- All cars intending to participate in the Show ‘n Shine MUST be parked by 9:00 am – NO EXCEPTIONS! Vehicles arriving after 9:00 am will not be allowed into Moore Park.

- What could be better than spending the day at beautiful Moore Park on the shores of Klamath Lake surrounded by hundreds of classic cars? Add in music, food, and vendors and it’s a perfect way to spend a Saturday! Don’t have a classic but want to come to check out the beauties? Take advantage of the free shuttle that runs from OIT (by the soccer field parking lot) to Moore Park. No parking inside Moore Park except for those with a handicap parking placard or Kruise issued parking pass.
- 6:30pm to 9:00pm / Closed Kruise / Downtown
- Hard to say who has the best time at this event, the owners of the classic cars getting to showcase their ride as they cruise downtown or the spectators who get to see them in action! The cruise route is Main Street and Klamath Avenue between 4th and 12th. General notice: street barricades will start going up at 5 pm for the event and Main Street and Klamath Avenue between 4th and 12th will be closed to general traffic.
Sunday, June 30th
- 7:00am to 10:00am / Breakfast / Starv’n Marv’n Family Restaurant – 1822 Austin St.
- A great way to fuel up for the last day of Kruise weekend. And it’s included with your registration fee so what a deal!
- 10:00am to Noon / Poker Run / Starts at Starv’n Marv’n Family Restaurant – 1822 Austin St.
- One last bit of fun before the weekend winds down with 7 lucky individuals taking home some cash!
