WEB At Ponderosa- Where Everyone Belongs!
The WEB program helps elementary students transition to middle school and helps facilitate building positive relationships between the grades.
These connections are important for the 6th graders in light of the transition from grade school to junior high.
Monday, September 5, 2017, at 8:30 AM, the WEB students met in the large gym and then broke off into the 6th-grade houses to work in small groups.
The WEB leaders did group activities along with tours of Ponderosa.
It is a year long elective class that 8th graders are able to take with more activities planned at different times.
WEB is a yearlong program that has four areas that contribute to the success of incoming students:
Middle School Orientation - WEB Leaders and 6th graders start building the mentor relationship and receive information about how to be successful in middle school, this took place on September 5th.
Academic Follow Ups - WEB Leaders support 6th-grade academic success and character development through classroom visits
Social Follow Ups - WEB Leaders and 6th graders connect outside the classroom at social events to increase student engagement and promote positive school climate
Leader Initiated Contacts - WEB Leaders connect with their 6th graders on a more individual basis
