Cross Country Family Runs From Ponderosa Middle School!
The Ponderosa Middle School Cross Country Team has been busy this season.
On Friday, September 22 they competed in the Midnight Mile at Klamath Union and on Thursday, October 12, they participated in a color run.
The goal was to have both events as a way to get families involved in activities with their kids. By building a culture of both involvement and understanding, the athletes are strengthened while building family buy in at the same time.
The coaches want younger siblings to be excited to come in and the parents to appreciate the experiences their students are attaining.
This idea was started 5 years ago and has only grown in popularity since then.
Head Coach Scott Olsen, "We wanted to have families to understand that running can be fun and not something to fear."
