Roosevelt Elementary Celebrates Kindness, Attendance, and Pies!
Roosevelt Elementary had their monthly assembly to recognize students that have been exemplifying the character trait of kindness in January. They acknowledged close to 50 kids.
Students were also recognized for either perfect attendance or improved attendance from 1st to 2nd quarter.
A student from each grade read from a list of names of their peers to be recognized, and one student read the definition of kindness.
The definition of the new character trait, responsibility, was also read. Next month students will be recognized for that character by staff and teachers.
The most anticipated part of the assembly was centered around the raffle that took place at the end. As part of Roosevelt’s PIBS program, kids could use their Teddy Tickets (Caught You Being Good) and buy a raffle ticket for a chance to "pie" the principal at the end of the assembly.
This opportunity is a monthly occurrence and is viewed with great fun by the student body.
This Monday, Roosevelt had one kinder that got to pie the Principal Mr. Sauter as she won that as a separate prize. The second winner was also a Kinder.
Mr. Sauter received 2 pies in the face as a result of great achievement in the Roosevelt student body!
