Klamath City Schools Robotics Club Has Been Busy!
The Pack Robot
The FIRST Tech Challenge (robotics competition) non-league competition happened in Corvallis recently and two Klamath Falls teams have made it into the super-qualifier competition.
Both teams earned awards at the competition. FIRST means “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology”. ORTOP, which is the parent organization, means “Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program”
The upcoming competition that both teams are now attending, will be in the Portland area on Feb 10 and 11. One team is named “The Klamath Coyotes”- officially part of Eagle Ridge except for the three students who go to KU, and “The Pack”- 14 students at Ponderosa Middle School and KU. “The Pack” won an award for the neatness of the engineering binder that qualified them to advance.
One of the mentors for The Pack is science teacher Ryan Millsap and Carol Usher is the Coach/Mentor for The Pack #11905
