KUHS Student Receives Nearly Full Scholarship to NYU
True Herrera, a senior at Klamath Union High School, recently received some fantastic news: not only did he gain acceptance to prestigious New York University (NYU), the school also awarded him a $60,000 a year scholarship, nearly a full ride.
True only applied to two other schools, Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Washington, and really believed he only had an outside chance at acceptance to NYU. “I applied thinking it would be a stretch,” Herrera said, “so it came as a great surprise to also earn a scholarship of this size.”
True plans to attend NYU-Steinhardt, where he will study Applied Psychology. “I am really looking forward to living so far from Klamath County and experiencing opportunities not available/acceptable in this area,” Herrera commented. “I know there is a larger world out there with more efficient ways of looking at things.”
